The name "Shadowcat Rules" came from me going onto the X-men Briefing Room forum one day way back in 1996 (I think) and I didn't know who was who and what names were taken, so I tried something out of thin air that didn't just have the name of "Shadowcat" just in case. It worked and it stuck.
Some brief personal history? I was originally born in the realm of Augusta, Maine and then when I was in my early teens I moved to Pennsylvania where I lived for a good 10 or more years. I've worked many jobs in my life, but some of my most memorable experiences were working for Disney. Yup, I worked for Disney for four months) and if you would like to see the places where I actually DID work to prove that I was there you can check out my Sucky Little Disney Gallery. I did learn a lot there and learned how to survive some things, learned tolerance for some others and I learned how to be intollerant when people deserved it. Overall...time heals a lot of bitterness I suppose and I don't hold the grudge I used to against Disney overall. I do try to warn people off the college program though to this day.
I'm 26 years old, am living in Alaska and have a wonderful husband by the name of Clark. He does fan fiction for the X-men as well and one of these days I'd like to see him write a novel (although I'd like to see him write some history novels more than anything or a text book...he's a VERY good teacher :-). I'd even put up with him beating me into the publication market *wink*.
I possess two sisters, Lelia (my older sister) and Stephanie (my younger sister). I also possess a brother named Henry who is the youngest out of all of us siblings. They all live with my mom in Pennsylvania, although my brother spends most of his time at college at the present time. We might fight like cats and dogs at times, but we do love each other. My grandmother lives over the hill from my other family and she is a pretty loving woman who has done a lot for me through the years. I have a lot of other family in Pennsylvania and it would take a novel to mention them all here.
In other blood I have two half sisters, Amanda and Ruth, that will hopefully be living with my dad when the divorce comes final. They're cute little kids and Ruth is as sharp as a tack. My father still lives in Maine and I'll most remember him for all the times he took me out camping and fishing when I was a kid and all the nights he read to my younger brother and sister and I'd sit in to enjoy it. He also gave me a love of cooking at an early age, which, after some years of hiding itself with how busy my life was, has come back to me. I love to cook now and I've heard from friends and my husband (but he's biased ;-) that I'm pretty darn good at it.
Currently I'm living next door to my father and mother in-law, three of my sister-in-laws (Ana, Gretchen and Adri are living next door, Jenny, my other sister-in-law, and her husband Cliff live about an hour or so away) and one of my brother in-laws, Clinton. Jake, my other brother-in-law, lives a gypsy's life really. I have one surviving nephew Ryan, as well. I just thought I'd mention them all here too and put out a "hi" to them all.
I also have a psycho-cat by the name of Ginger who tends to drive me and my husband nuts, but I love her anyway.
I'd also like to say "hi" to my extended family, Jon and David. And I'd like to say "Hi" to my very good friends LeeAnn and Tim and Shane and Sam.
In other news, the most favorite thing on this page is Kitty of course...I love that character. I associate myself with her in a way I guess...sometimes too much, but that's a story for another time. Now onto the fun stuff!
