KITTY FINALLY GETS ACTION FIGURE RELEASED!

Marvel has finally decided to release a Kitty action figure that is available without having to mail away for it. Kitty is being released as part of the Marvel Legends line and Lockheed DOES come in the pack with her! So, even if she is in a hideous uniform (which she is by the way) go out and buy the figure anyway, so hopefully we'll see future Kitty figures where she ISN'T in hideous outfits! Hey, it's worth a shot and if nothing else, repaint the hideous one to look good =). That's what I plan to do!

X-MEN BRIEFING ROOM REUNION SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 2006!!!

I know this really isn't "Kitty" related, but it is a subject that is X-men related and near and somewhat dear to my heart. The old X-men Briefing Room, now "The Briefing Room" is getting all of the old and new members it can to meet in Chicago this June for a good old fashioned party/reunion! So, if you were a regular way back when and you want to see all of the old people you miss, get to Chicago this coming June and meet everyone again!

In a similiar vein, I unfortunately, will not be able to make the get together in June due to money being super tight. Sorry to everyone who hoped I would be able to make it.

For information feel free to check out the forum yourselves...

NEW KITTY CASTED IN X-MEN 3
Source: http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/637/637120p1.html

"July 27, 2005 - IGN FilmForce has learned that the role of Kitty Pryde in X-men 3 will be played by eighteen-year-old actress Ellen Page (a.k.a. Ellen Philpotts-Page). Her credits include Hard Candy and the TV series Trailer Park Boys."

"The part of Warren "Angel" Worthington's father has not yet been cast but is down to a few actors, while Daniel Cudmore will reprise his role as Colossus in X3. And, yes, Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler will definitely not return.

In other news, Xmenfilms.net reports that X3 has added several key crew members, beginning with editor Mark Helfrich (Red Dragon, Predator).

'Yes, I will be editing X3, as I have all of Brett Ratner's films,' Helfrich advised XMF, adding 'this project will have 3 editors. Academy Award nominee Mark Goldblatt A.C.E. and Julia Wong will be editing with me.' Goldblatt also directed 1989's The Punisher.

XMF also lists the following people as having joined the crew: costume designer Lisa Tomczeszyn, special effects director Mike Vézina, 2nd unit director Simon Crane, director of photography 2nd unit/visual effects Jonathan Taylor, first assistant director – 2nd Unit Terry Madden and storyboard artist Collin Grant. Many of them are veterans of other comic book films.

Finally, Super Hero Hype reports that recent photography done in San Francisco and Alcatraz Island was for the X3 trailer, which SHH adds will debut in December. X-Men 3 begins filming next week in Vancouver, under the direction of Brett Ratner. 20th Century Fox has the flick set for a May 26, 2006 release."

KITTY BACK IN GOOD SERIES!

Okay, so that was biased, but seriously I've read the first two issues of Kitty's new series (penciled by Paul Smith by the way) and I have to say for the first time since before Kitty Pryde: Agent of Shield, I actually enjoyed a new Kitty issue. And I now have hope that SOMEONE can pull Kitty out of the spiral path of doom her character has been on the past eight or so years. It is a very good day =).

KATIE STUART REPLACED IN X-MEN 3

Well everyone it looks like Katie Stuart will not be playing Kitty in X-men 3. We're not QUITE sure who will be playing her yet, but it's looking like Summer Glau (unknown actress really) might just end up playing Kitty. Thanks to Mischance for keeping us informed of the developments in the X-men 3 movie casting.

Unfortunately, from what I have heard, the X-men 3 script has it calling for Kitty to be Rogue's rival for Bobby in this latest movie, which I'm not liking too much. The guy that was playing Collossus I guess isn't even coming back for this movie either by the way.

KITTY APPEARS IN "X-MEN: THE END"

And it really was, from the sounds of it, "the end" for a lot of Kitty Pryde fans who had hope that Claremont would rethink the stupid "I'm going to make Kitty into a lesbian suddenly, where it doesn't fit in with her character at all" plot. "X-men: The End" takes place about ten years into the X-men's future. In "X-Men: The End" it is pretty heavily implied that Kitty and Rachel have been a couple for a long time, with lots of cuddling and hand holding. So, for all of you out there who hoped for a Kitty and Pete reunion...you're going to have to wait until Claremont realizes that his writing ain't what it used to be, and I don't see that happening for a LOOONNNNNNNNGGGG time with his massive ego. Sorry everyone, but I think Kitty is dead due to character assasination. But, in other news (check out the next story down) there is an upper to those of you who, like me, gave up hope a long time ago and live through their back issues, refusing to acknowledge everything BAD that has been done to Kitty in the past years.

"KITTY PRYDE FINALLY GETS BUSTED"
Source: http://www.superherotimes.com/newsarchive/000153.php

"Introduced in Uncanny X-Men #129, Katherine “Kitty” Pryde is a young woman whose mutant X-factor gifts her with the powers of intangibility… this kitten can literally walk through walls! Also known to “True Believers” as Sprite, Ariel, and Shadowcat, she was the first “new blood” introduced to the “All-New, All-Different” Uncanny X-Men team since Giant Sized X-Men #1, and was an immediate hit with fans for her pluck and determination. Now, Diamond Select Toys pays tribute to Kitty Pryde with this all-new bust, sculpted by Steve Kuwis and based on the artwork of comics veteran Paul Smith. Measuring 6 ½” tall (with base), this X-traordinary resin base comes painted and ready to display. Includes a full-color, hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide."

KITTY BACK IN X-MEN!

Kitty and Lockheed are now currently back in Astonishing X-men (not Uncanny). Kitty, it turns out, is staying on to keep Emma in line, at Emma's request, because Kitty doesn't trust Emma at all. Weird set of circumstances to be sure to stay with the team, but for those of you who just don't care what Kitty acts like so long as she is in a book, well she's in a book. Thanks to Ryan for the original information about Kitty being back in a book and thanks to Some Shadowcat Fan for the fix about it being Astonishing X-men, not Uncanny.
