This is where I will post up stats for Lockheed as I find them from such sources as cards, trade paper backs (such as the official Marvel Handbook and such) and also for RPG's and anything I can get my hands on. Lockheed stats are very hard to find, so be patient as this page is probably going to grow very slowly.

Lockheed is an often overlooked character and it is hard to find out even how big he is, so I'm going to do some guesswork here and try to fill in some gaps that Marvel hasn't really bothered to fill in for you.

Source: My mind for useless Marvel History and my own guesstimates in parts.

Name: Lockheed the Dragon (given to him by Kitty Pryde),
Original Name: Unknown
Eyes: Gold
Scale color: Dark greyish-purple with a lighter purple underbelly.

Length: I'd say about three and a half feet (yeah I know that seems long). About ten inches to a foot for his head, a foot for his body (wings set at about four inches *considering his neck*) from his head, and a foot and a half for his tail. I base this on the fact that one of Lockheed's favorite riding positions is wrapped around Kitty's neck. Now my cat was about two feet long from nose to tail tip and he didn't have a long beak-like nose like Lockheed does and he used to wrap around MY neck and not have much room to spare, so I'm going to go with that length if he stretched out to his fullest length.

Weight: Let's be realistic and assume that he is about 14 pounds or so since he has more muscle mass than a cat.

Wingspan: About three feet if his wings are spread out to the fullest I'd say since his wings dwarf Kitty's shoulder span when he's flying and he'd have to have enough of a wingspan to lift his body adequately and whatever load he was carrying (and he's proven he can carry a MUCH larger load than his own body weight).

Food preferences: Carnivore

Origins: Lockheed is an alien version of dragon that Kitty picked up while on an adventure in space. All we know is that when we first meet Lockheed he is stalking Kitty and you see all kinds of broken eggs and brood skeletons around the "nest" that Kitty stumbled onto. We do NOT know if the nest was where Lockheed was hatched (thus making him a baby dragon) or if that was the place where the dragon was just dragging his prey off to eat (so we do not know if he was hatched recently or if he just raided a nest for food). He rescues Kitty from some Brood who are about to shoot her and we get to see that he is a slight little thing. We also find out that the Brood are terrified of the little dragon and will run as fast as they can in the other direction as soon as they see him. Lockheed has made a snack out of more than one alien, so we assume he is close to the top of the alien food chain (especially considering that we are 99% certain that the little guy eats Brood who are a very technological race of aliens who are not scared of anything). Kitty then loses track of Lockheed when the Brood homeworld is blown up and she assumes the little dragon perishes. But the two are reunited when Kitty is being attacked by Sidri aliens in the lower tunnels of the mansion. Lockheed makes a snack out of a nest the aliens had made and barbecues a few of them for Kitty. Kitty then names him "Lockheed" after a character she had made up for a story she'd told young Illyana Rasputin earlier.

Lockheed has been with Kitty ever since. He has an inate ability to know when Kitty is in trouble and comes to her rescue if he is able. Lockheed has been seriously hurt a few times in battle, usually by mystical means, and Kitty has nursed the young dragon back to health.

Lockheed can shoot fire that is so hot that he can burn through the most technologically advanced methods of flame retardants (as was proven in Excalibur). He understands English, but doesn't communicate well, but he is very intelligent (that we know by our standards). Lockheed can also fly through the vaccuum of space without freezing to death or suffocating (he's done it in the past), so it is assumed he can hold his breath indefinitely. He can fly very fast and lift loads that are much larger than he is (he's lifted Kitty a few times among other things). He also has the ability to get VERY jealous of Kitty whenever she finds a new boyfriend. He and Pete Wisdom hated each other and made a habit of getting into epic battles over Pete's cigarettes, his clothes and many other things. The two of them finally called a truce for Kitty's sake, but Pete still swears Lockheed can talk in full sentences while no one else will believe the man.

I may add more to this bio later, but those are some of the basic points to little Lockheed the Dragon.

Lockheed is a type of dragon, an alien creature that the X-men discovered on the Brood's homeworld, where he hunted the Brood for food. Lockheed followed the X-men home to Earth and adopted Kitty Pryde as his owner. Lockheed can fly at Typical Air Speed, and can hover in place. He can breathe fire up to 1 area away, causing Remarkable Damage. Lockheed is impervious to fire and heat of Amazing level and under. His mind is of a type that not even Professor Xavier can penetrate (he has a Class - 1000 Psi-Screen), so that no one is really sure what he is thinking, but it does appear that he understands English and may even have a language all his own. He has proven time and time again that he has a great love of eating and for his mistress, Kitty (though not necessarily in that order).

****NOTE: This is just funny so I wanted to include it. Off the same "Children of the Atom" RPG.****

Under "The Brood" it reads...

"Vunerability to Dragons: Unexplainably, the Brood live in stark terror of an alien minature dragon race that lived on 'Broodworld,' though they may not have been a native to it. Lockheed, Kitty Pryde's dragon, is a member of that race. Though other flame attacks do not seem to overly worry the Brood, they have a cumulative 25% chance per dragon present of breaking ranks and running scared, even in their queen's palace."
