This is the page where I will put anything about Lockheed that doesn't really "fit" into other areas of the site.

LOCKHEED GETS RELEASED WITH KITTY FIGURE!!!

In the upcoming "X-men: Legends" line of figures Kitty will be released in the same blister pack as Lockheed in the new line of action figures, so go out there people and buy buy buy!!! It's awesome that Lockhed is finally going to be seen with Kitty. I was starting to think that they were ashamed that Kitty and Lockheed might be seen together or something ;-).

LOCKHEED IS FINALLY BACK!!!

Lockheed has been in Astonishing X-men as many know, but for once I'm endorsing a new series for Kitty and Lockheed fans. The new series "Kitty Pryde: Shadow & Flame" is an excellent series and has Lockheed as a main lead (now as a disclaimer I've only read two issues so far, but it seems pretty good!). So, go out and buy it now and be happy that Lockheed is back and Kitty is acting normal *yay!!!*. Check out the gallery for a few pics from the new series. I'm working on scanning others, but it might take a bit.

"LOCKHEED FINALLY GETS BUSTED"
Source: http://www.superherotimes.com/newsarchive/000153.php

"Introduced in Uncanny X-Men #129, Katherine “Kitty” Pryde is a young woman whose mutant X-factor gifts her with the powers of intangibility… this kitten can literally walk through walls! Also known to “True Believers” as Sprite, Ariel, and Shadowcat, she was the first “new blood” introduced to the “All-New, All-Different” Uncanny X-Men team since Giant Sized X-Men #1, and was an immediate hit with fans for her pluck and determination. Now, Diamond Select Toys pays tribute to Kitty Pryde with this all-new bust, sculpted by Steve Kuwis and based on the artwork of comics veteran Paul Smith. Measuring 6 ½” tall (with base), this X-traordinary resin base comes painted and ready to display. Includes a full-color, hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide."

I've just been informed (and thank you Metallion *I KNOW I spelled that wrong and I'm sorry* for telling me) that I misinformed you all about what comic Lockheed is appearing in currently. Lockheed and Kitty are back in UNCANNY X-men (occasionally), not Astonishing, although Kitty IS in Astonishing right now which isn't being written by Claremont, it's being written by Josh Whedon (the guy who wrote Buffy: The Vampire Slayer). So, I'm very sorry for the mix-up and if you want to check out Lockheed get probably Astonishing and if you want to see Kitty in whatever forms she's in now, pick up Astonishing X-men or Uncanny. Thanks.

Well, as an update about Excalibur, Lockheed is not going to be a member, BUT he and Kitty are currently back in Astonishing X-men where they are being slaughtered by Claremont's writing. Yay *totally unenthused sounding*. I'm actually sort of hoping that they kill Kitty and Lockheed right now (Claremont is that bad to those who have lost touch with Marvel...I suggest NOT going back), but I don't see that happening anytime soon, unfortunately.

The Letter writing campaign for Kitty was an absolute failure, I'm sorry to say to all Lockheed and Kitty fans out there. For further details check out the following link...

A Call To Arms...A failure

Thanks to all those who wrote in and tried.

Lockheed returns to X-men!

Or at least to Kitty. This is old news, but still news for those of us who don't get out much. Kitty and Lockheed will be featured on an upcoming issue of X-Treme X-men in March, 2004. The synopsis of the issue is "A long-lost X-men character returns", which is Kitty and she has Lockheed on her arm. I am NOT happy that Marvel let Claremont get his mitts on Kitty again after Mechanix and the fact that he has alienated and ticked off many MANY a Shadowcat fan and believe it or not I'm not overly pleased that he's going to get his mitts on Lockheed either. To see what Kitty and Lockheed look like (Kitty showing thong and all *shudder*) check out the following link...

Excalibur Returns!

I'd like to thank Helen for pointing me toward this article. This article is off of Newsarama (Want to check out the original article? http://newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8329 Follow that link).

"X-TREME X-MEN ENDS IN APRIL

While Marvel has already announced that the X-Men franchise will be “Reloaded” in 2004, actual facts have been hard to come by - until now. While not going into much detail, Marvel has confirmed for Newsarama that X-Treme X-Men will end in April, with a replacement waiting in the wings.

The month will see two issues of the series ship, both written by Chris Claremont and penciled by Igor Kordey. Issue #45 will conclude the “Prisoner of Fire” storyline, while issue #46 will be a stand-alone finale issue, with the team facing a transition point in their lives.

X-Treme X-Men is consistently one of Marvel's better-selling titles, consistently landing in the Top 20 comics or above in any given month.

The series will be replaced by a new Excalibur series in May.

Marvel Editor in Chief Joe Quesada confirmed the changes in the X-lineup for Newsarama, saying:

“We have a very solid strategy brewing with the X-Books which we have discussed with all the current and future teams. X-Treme doesn't quite go away, it morphs into another title but you'll hear about that soon enough.

”As for Excalibur, not all is as it seems. Chris had an amazing concept for the book and then he and I spitballed a bit and made it that much juicier. It will have some of the most unexpected happenings in the X Universe in a long time.”"

***********

Whether or not this is good or bad news is yet to be seen. Personally? I have absolutely no hope that this book will be good as Chris Claremont is writing it. Just from talking to past fans and from past experience, the man doesn't listen to what fans want to be done with Kitty or any member of Excalibur and refuses to listen to anyone, other than those who say that he's perfect and can do no wrong. So, basically, Marvel lost my vote of confidence a loonnnnnnnngggg time ago when they broke up Pryde and Wisdom and sent Kitty's character into the dumpster and sent Lockheed MIA in Wolverine. So, I have no faith that this book will be anything but the typical fare that Marvel puts out now a days...not worth reading fare. There's my humble opinion for the day. Now Marvel, if you read this, this is your opportunity to prove me wrong. Good luck.

I have found out that Lockheed has a new toy out, for the first time in years! He's not an action figure, so don't get your hopes up, BUT you can find Lockheed on the (relatively) new Heroclix Unique Shadowcat figure. It's part of the Xplosion set for Heroclix (it's Marvel's answer to Warhammer from what I can see...sort of a cross between a board game and an RPG). The Lockheed part of the little figure (it's stands about two inches high, but that's with a base...the actual Shadowcat figure is about an inch high and Lockheed sits on her arm) is really really good. Shadowcat looks like crap. Just thought I'd warn you. The painting on the Shadowcat part of the figure tends to be poor and it doesn't really look like her. Lockheed looks GOOD though, even though he's small. For Lockheed lovers out there I think it'd be worth picking up. You can get the figure through Toywiz and a couple of other places, but I'd try on E-bay first (you can get it much cheaper there...I got mine for 12 bucks instead of 25 retail price). I think it's worth getting if for nothing else but Lockheed.

Just thought people would want to know.

In Lockheed news, Lockheed is currently, after a story in X-men Unlimited, is crossing the ocean to reunite with Kitty Pryde in Chicago. Lockheed, after a five year abscence and many a letter writing campaign by fans, has returned to the X-men in this X-men Unlimited story.

We find out where Lockheed has been during this long hiatus, Marvel finally answering fans agitated questions about where the small purple sidekick to Shadowcat had disappeared to.

Lockheed, it turns out, when he and Kitty fell back into the atmosphere in an earlier X-men, got separated from Kitty. Supposedly, when the two landed in different areas, Kitty and Lockheed thought the other one dead. And so Lockheed, somehow finding himself in Europe (how, who knows) gets found by two young witches and nursed back to health when he gets a broken wing.

Lockheed enjoys his times with the witches, but quickly finds out the girls are not what he thinks they are and finding they are evil, changes sides in a huge fight between the girls and their greatest adversary. Lockheed finds out that this girl, a good witch, knows where Kitty is and that she is alive and healing Lockheed's wing tells him to go and reunite with Kitty. Lockheed takes off, happier than he has been in some time (probably happy to finally find himself in a story again) and goes to reunite with his best friend and companion.

My opinion of this attempt by Marvel to explain away five years in which Lockheed has been gone for is not good. I thought the story was not only contrived, but also somewhat stupid, considering past continuity. If Lockheed and Kitty ever got separated, Lockheed ALWAYS knew if Kitty was in trouble or if she was hurt or in need of help. He had a built in Kitty radar. So, they threw this past continuity out of the window. On top of that, if Lockheed and Kitty go separated both of them would not have stopped until they either found a body or had the answers of what happened to the other. They would not have landed and said, "Oh the other must have burned up in the atmosphere...oh well" and left it at that. Kitty, at least the OLD Kitty, would have also realized that Lockheed is immune to severe heat and therefore would NOT have burned up in the atmosphere. Lockheed can also fly through a vaccuum, so I'm thinking that Kitty would have realized that after years of hanging around with Lockheed. But, than again, Kitty hasn't acted like herself for years (see more on this on the Catbox...Home to All Things Kitty, if you're curious about Shadowcat and what she's been up to).

So, we now know that Lockheed is crossing the ocean to reunite with Kitty and we should see him sometime in the next 20 years, but I'm not going to get my hopes up too high, considering how long it takes Marvel to get to things when it comes to the small purple dragon, we'll see him in another five years.
