This page is for just random stuff that might be of interest to people about Kitty, or just generally speaking. I'm thinking about making just a "cover of interest" section in here, but we'll see how lazy I get *laugh*.

I got ahold of the "Pryde of the X-men Soundtrack" as well as the Shadowcat Heroclix Xplosion Unique figure (with her and Lockheed) recently. Here's what I think of them both.

The "Pryde of the X-men Remastered Soundtrack" has different songs by bands you may or may not have ever heard of, such as the "Rob Walsh Project" and "Ghetto Inmates". There is also just some instrumentals done by "The Encino Light Orchestra". I have got to say that the CD is probably worth listening to at least once just for some cool things they have on there that Stan Lee talks about. He talks about the message attached to certain mutant powers, why he really created the X-men and stuff like that. Very neat stuff. Some of the music isn't bad, but it's not great. I paid two bucks for this on Amazon Z-Shops (always go for the 4 and a half star to five star sellers is my advice to anyone thinking of buying from them...or at least read all of the reviews from customers. They tend to know what they are talking about) and I think two bucks was about how much I would have liked to have paid for it anywhere. It's something that you'd feel sorta nice about picking up in a bargain bin, but I think you would have felt somewhat ripped if you got it at full price when it first came out.

And now onto the Unique Heroclix figure. I have to say, I have gotten ahold of four Shadowcat figures by herself (still trying to work out the rookie, experienced and veteran things without any instructions for Heroclix) and she looks awful. The painting is crappy, and I mean really crappy. If you're lucky her face resembles that of a human being. The Unique figure doesn't give Kitty anymore credit. But, the thing that saves this piece is Lockheed. He looks AWESOME! I think they even got his structure and size down right, which is surprising to me. The painting isn't too complicated since he's purple, which probably saves him from getting a lot of mistakes done to him, but his face even looks good on mine. It looks cool. The only thing I don't like about it, other than Kitty's paint job, is the fact that the figure of Lockheed is just basically meshed in with the old Kitty mold and so he's placed on her arm ,with glue basically, on this figure and it's really not meant for that. The center of gravity is whacky on it because it's top and forward heavy. The figure will pop off the base so fast your head will spin. My husband and I had a heck of a time getting Kitty to stay on the base and we were just displaying the piece. I can imagine what it would be like if you actually wanted to PLAY with it. And so, I would suggest to you, if you want to get one, for one thing go to E-bay and bid on them (they're 20 bucks everywhere but I got mine for ten through E-bay and they've gone for less there that I've seen) and for another you'll probably want to super-glue Kitty to the base if you're going to play her and Lockheed in a game. Anyway, if you get one enjoy!

KITTY NEWS!

Thanks to Red King/Flyin' Ryan and Mark Shakesphere for the following Kitty news.

It is official after the release of X-treme X-men #31 that Kitty Pryde will not be returning to the X-men. It seems Kitty does not want to live in secrecy and have to wear the costumes and the masks and that seems to be the main reason she is not returning. It is rumored that Kitty may be thinking of running for political office after she returns to the life she is living now.

Thanks to Carkeys27@aol.com for this information/lead. I've managed to find the lyrics to Weezer's song, "In the Garage" that has Kitty and Nightcrawler in it. Cool huh? If you want to see them, go here.

New X-men Evolution episodes are now being aired on the WB, same time as is usually shown (check your listings for further information).

Re-runs of X-men Evolution can be seen on the Cartoon Network (here it's on at 6:30 pm Alaska time, so check your listings for further information there too).

And you know, I gotta say, I wasn't impressed with X-men Evolution when I first saw the episodes introducing Kitty. She acted like a huge valley girl and acted like she didn't have a brain in her head. The plots were also somewhat simple. But, I have actually changed my opinion. I have seen some of the later episodes and I have to say that I'm actually impressed with what the writers have done. Kitty doesn't talk with the Valley Girl accent anymore and she not only pilots the Blackbird when the X-men go out on missions, she has more grace than she had in the beginning episodes of X-men: Evolution. I actually am beginning to enjoy the episodes. Yes, they do have some odd flubs when it comes to the kids powers and such, but overall for a cartoon it's not bad at all.

And get this...Scott and Jean aren't together, they both date other people, Cyclops is actually more than just a lampshade in the cartoon and he has a personality. And Wolverine isn't the main focus of the cartoon all the time and Kurt actually acts like his charming little self. I was impressed with that :-).

Oh and Thanks to Flyin' Ryan, The Red King, for the information about X-men: Evolution.

Paul Hersh, a guy who is putting together a project, wrote me about this and I thought some of you might be interested in ordering it. Here is the e-mail message he sent me...

Paul Hersh"

I didn't put up the banner ad because I'm not one to do advertising for free for people I really don't know, but at the same time this DVD might be cool, so I thought I'd let you all decide. His e-mail is...paul@countdowntowednesday.com if you have any questions to ask him.

New information about X-men movie and Kitty's role in it.

Well I don't know HOW new it is, but I found out that Katie Stuart, not Sumuela Kay will be playing Kitty in X-men 2 and in X-men 3. Kitty is going to play a somewhat minor role in X-men 2, but plays a more pivitol role in X-men 3.

X-men 2's plot is going to revolve more around "God Loves, Man Kills" then the originally predicted Sentinel storyline that the rumor mill had in rotation. I do not know how big of a role Kitty DOES definitely play in X-men 2 yet, but if you check out the previews for the movie you will see Kitty running through some of Stryker's men and phasing through some objects. I'm hoping that's not her big scene in the movie, but we shall see I guess since that seems to be the big scene they are pushing.

Katie Stuart has been in a lot of things, mainly things I have not seen before (unfortunately), but if you would like to check out the latest news on her you might want to check out www.katiestuart.net.

Pittsburgh Band Shares Kitty's Name

I in no way bring this up to make someone go and try to find these people to sue them. I bring it up because it is free advertising for Marvel and also very cool (least in my humble opinion). I found out this band came from my home stomping ground of Pittsburgh and had to share.

There is a band in Pittsburgh (or was...my husband and I have been unable to find anything really recent on the band) by the name of "Kitty Pryde and the Shadowcats". They were or are a college band and are very cool in that they actually did name themselves after Kitty Pryde and her codename "Shadowcat". Neat huh? Here is a picture of a poster so you know that I'm not nuts. I'd like to thank Clark for finding this cool information and for letting me share it with everyone.

In other news, I've got some stuff for you to check out if you want to...

Here is a list of Kitty Appearances in the books. I in NO WAY take credit for this list...that honor goes out to the webmistress of the "Pryde of the X-men", another super cool Kitty site. I felt she did a better job than I ever could on issue naming, so I took the list to post up here. A link to her page is available on the links page as well as on the issues page itself. It's definitely worth checking out her site. It's very very well done and she should be very proud of it.

Kitty Appearances in Comic Books

If you're looking for some good news sources for up to date Kitty information, I'd suggest either checking out "Pryde of the X-men" (if it ever gets back up and working) or "X-fan", both of which links are up on my LINKS page. Both pretty good sites and they both got up to date information on our favorite little bruenette.

Time for some Q and A... What happened to the Comixtreme address?!?

Okay everyone this is the best place, I felt to cover what happened to my site and Comixtreme. I know the sudden ripping down of my site (which is what happened, NO the server hasn't been down on my site for the past seven months or so) was a shock to many, including myself, and I thought it best to explain things from MY point of view here...in as an objective way as I can. I could say they screwed me, which after a fashion they did, but there is more to it than that.

You see, this all has to do with The Power of Cyclops. I was webmistress of it for about five months and the old webmaster said it was mine, lock stock and barrel, because he didn't want it anymore. At least that is what he told me when I happily signed on. But, he stuck around after the transition period most webmasters would have deemed fit and I just adapted and went with the flow. I even put up with having to explain to him every five minutes that I had a life and updating the site once or twice a week was decent enough for everyone since they'd understand THAT I had a life.

The problem arose when I decided to take some time for myself and go on a break. The old webmaster and everyone in creation knew I was leaving and it all hit the fan as soon as I left I guess. As soon as I gave permission to change the site design to the guess webmaster while I went on vacation because he had some really cool ideas and I redid the award the site gave out for the sake of having a new one for the new year, the old webmaster returned with a vengance and said he was going to yank the site away and take all of the hard work and redos I did to the site without so much as a "thanks and don't let the door hit you on the way out". This was because hits were not what they should be in his estimation, when in fact I took over the site and after five months over doubled the hits to the site (which the original hits had accumulated over a year) and the people who frequented the site seemed to like me. I thought that was pretty good for a character that was dead in the X-titles for a long period of time and the craze from the movie had died down significantly. Anyway, my idea of "this is pretty good" wasn't his idea of good and he decided he wanted the site back to suddenly incorporate into his new "X-men Extreme" which was a Cyclops and Wolverine site (should have seen it coming really I should have).

By yanking the site away I would have been cheated out of LOTS of hard work. I would not have gotten any credit for what I had done, which would have not been fair to me, nor the fans, nor my family and friends, who had helped to make the site better the five months I had been in charge. Fan fiction writers had entrusted me with their work to archive it on the site, but had not given permission to have it shipped to another site under a different webmaster without knowledge or consent from them given, which is what the old webmaster was going to do. Fan artists were in much the same boat with me. So, it was obvious to me at that point that I was never going to even GET control of the site at all from the old webmaster so I did what I thought was fair.

I ripped off all of the work I had done. ONLY the work I had done and left the site as I had found it five months earlier. I could have deleted off the whole site you understand, if I had been a nasty person, but I did not. I had the codes to do just that, but instead I had my guess webmaster at that time just rip down the work I had put into it and leave it at that. I just reclaimed the work I had done for the site and left. Simple as that. I then e-mailed and apologized to the fan fiction writers about what had happened that I had archived and they understood. I appreciate and thank them for their understanding in that matter.

In the meantime, the old webmaster was also emersed in Comixtreme and was helping out the webmasters in running of the place, and I guess after I did what I thought was fair, they simply ripped my site down. The reason given by Super Energy was that they thought the site was ugly and they didn't want it as part of Comixtreme. Mind you, I would not have minded if they had taken me off of Comixtreme and placed me merely in the Mutant Underground again or just hosted me on Fanhosts to begin with. They did NOT have to rip my site down without so much as a warning given or even an explaination. I've actually never heard from them at all since it happened, which I guess is for the best because the unprofessionalism shown just blew my mind and I wouldn't even know what to say to them.

I in no way, to those reading this, blame the actual members of the Mutant Underground. No matter the qualms I might have with the heads of Comixtreme and a few select members of the MU, the Mutant Underground is still full of good people.

I do, however, encourage people to avoid Comixtreme for hosting of their site and go to other places like 100megs4free.com and other places, even with the pop up ads to host their site. You could then avoid what happened to my site.

Thanks for your understanding and I'm very sorry for the lag in getting my site transferred over to a new server. I have a job, got married, got moved and stuff like that this past year.

Thank you again and good luck to you all in the future.
